Metro Survive vol. 2

A glimpse of hope comes to the survivors as they are joined together with another party that was stranded in the upper basement. However, their relief is short-lived as they see no signs of rescue and the shortage of food creeps up on them. Frustration ensues. After a hostile takeover the other party’s leader, Mishima and his party are threatened to leave the basement back to the Metro. How long will they be able to survive in the rodent-infested Metro without food and water?

Chinese Hero vol. 6

After heeding the Heavenly Umbrella Elder’s advice, Jian finds the Heavenly Umbrella to uncover the secrets hidden within it, and learns several new mysterious techniques. However, Jian’s arrogance leads to the death of someone close to him… Meanwhile, Wu Yuan has arrived in Shafe Town to find Lohan’s friends, Luna and Lupin. But shortly after their introductions, Lupin is kidnapped by a mysterious vampire, who is one of the Q level Face Card Assassins!

Magic Lover’s Tower

Roxanne the nerdy class cleanliness rep is secretly in love with the bad boy of the class, Logan. One day, she accidentally releases Baphalen, a magical being who was sealed by the Heavenly Courts as punishment. Baphalen is the guardian of the incense urn of the Old Man Under the Moon, and in return for Roxanne’s help, he decides to use his Magic Lover’s Staff to grant her wish of winning Logan’s heart. However, in order for her wish to be fulfilled, Roxanne must participate in a magical game in the realm of the Magic Lover’s Tower, where she must get Logan to kiss her and say “I love you,” within the time limit. Or else, Logan will hate her even more when she returns to reality! In the meantime, Baphalen has moved into Roxanne’s room and starts attending her school as well. Commotion ensues, and Roxanne’s once-peaceful life soon heads off in a totally unexpected direction!

VIZ MEDIA ANNOUNCES THE DEBUT OF NEW ANIMATED FANTASY ACTION SERIES– BUSO RENKIN               New Series on DVD Is Based On Popular Manga By The Creator Of RUROUNI KENSHIN And GUN BLAZE WEST 

San Francisco, CA, April 23, 2008 – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), one of the entertainment industry’s most innovative and comprehensive publishing, animation and licensing companies, has announced the debut of a new animated fantasy action series – BUSO RENKIN – to be released as a DVD box set on April 29th. The 3-disc set is rated ‘T+’ for Older Teen and features the first 13 episodes (of 26 total) with an estimated retail price of $49.98. The second half of the series is slated for release later this year. 

The DVD box set comes in a collector’s box with a foil slipcase and features exclusive art prints. The DVD also features special bonus interviews with the English voice cast and series director.  

BUSO RENKIN introduces audiences to Kazuki Muto, a high school student who thinks he’s saving a girl from a monster, but it turns out that he’s the one who needs saving! Kazuki is stabbed and killed while fighting a homunculus, a malevolent creature that feeds on humans. A girl, Tokiko Tsumura, revives him by replacing his heart with an alchemical device called a kakugane. With this device, Kazuki can create his own Buso Renkin, a powerful alchemical weapon in the form of a huge lance, capable of destroying homunculi. With his new weapon, Kazuki decides to join forces with Tokiko to eliminate the evil homunculi and destroy their master, the strange and eccentric Papillon Masked Creator!

‘DRAFTED’ ADS NEW ARTIST REBEKAH ISAACS

Devil’s Due teams Isaacs with writer Mark Powers starting in May’s ‘Drafted’ #7

“Drafted itself has been a like a dream job for me,” Isaacs said. “I’m thrilled not only to see a truly epic, engaging new story enter the sci-fi genre, but especially to be a part of its creation.”

A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Isaacs has worked previously on a Twilight Zone graphic novel in addition to her work on Hack/Slash. She takes over penciling duties from artist Chris Lie in a Drafted issue that sees the first act of Powers’ saga reach a boiling point. In the wake of humanity’s draft into an alien army, issue #7 will see some humans begin to rebel against the aliens who are trying to help them.

“To say I’m excited about collaborating with Rebekah is an understatement,” said Powers. “Rebekah’s strengths in portraying interpersonal moments and creating characters that truly act will allow us to dramatically depict the enormous personal and emotional costs being demanded of our cast as the scope of story expands.”

Drafted #7 arrives in comic shops on May 14.
